Giant George was a blue Great Dane was recognized as the world's tallest living dog, and the tallest dog ever by Guinness World Records. He was owned by David Nasser of Tucson, Arizona, USA. His records were announced as he appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show in February 2010. He weighed 245 pounds (111 kg), which is about 100 pounds (45 kg) more than an average Great Dane. 


The measurement by veterinarian Jim Boulay and witnessed by Guinness representative Jamie Panas showed that George was three-quarters of an inch larger than the previous record hold, another Great Dane, Titan.

Tibetan Mastiff

A property developer paid 12 million yuan, $1.9 million, for one-year-old golden-haired mastiff at a "luxury pet" fair in the eastern province of Zhejiang, the Qianjiang Evening News has reported.

"They have lion's blood and are top-of-the-range mastiff studs," the dog's breeder Zhang Gengyun was quoted as telling the paper, adding that another red-haired canine had sold for 6 million yuan.
